Clair Obscur Sweeps at the 2025's Golden Joystick Awards
The forty-third yearly Golden Joystick Awards were hosted recently, and in a stunning show, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was crowned the most decorated winner. This breakout role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive won the prestigious Top Game award, along with accolades for Superb Storytelling and Excellence in Visuals.
Enhancing the studio's achievements, the skilled cast also garnered personal awards. Jennifer English won Best Lead Performer for her portrayal as Maelle, while Ben Starr won Best Supporting Actor for his role as Verso. Additionally, Sandfall Interactive itself received Studio of the Year. In total, Clair Obscur and its developers achieved 7 awards throughout the ceremony.
Other standout winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which received Best Audio Design and Console Game of the Year, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, winning Outstanding Independent Game and Best PC Game. Notably, the bulk of Golden Joystick Awards are chosen by the public, with only four categories—Critics' Pick, Rising Star, Hall of Fame, and Streamer Selection—determined by critics.
