Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with publishing house.
Acclaimed young adult author and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.
A representative for the company said: "After careful consideration, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing additional books by David Walliams."
Reports indicate that the move was taken subsequent to an review of allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable towards young women.
The publisher declined to specify the specific rationale behind the move, adding: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."
An Illustrious Literary Career
Walliams ranks among Britain's most best-selling authors for kids, having sold more than 60 million copies globally in dozens of tongues.
His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.
Some of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.
His bibliography includes over four dozen titles in total, encompassing a Christmas book called *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.
A Dual Career
He first rose to fame on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was awarded an OBE several years ago for his services to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.
This move occurs subsequent to the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
