The families of teenagers missing after a deadly blaze at a bar in a Swiss ski resort are enduring an agonising wait for official news and appealing for any details about their loved ones online.

The fire engulfed the a popular bar in Cans-Montana, located in the mountains of south-west Switzerland, in the early hours of January 1st. Confirmed footage reveal the ceiling catching alight as bottles with fireworks are held aloft.

Officials have stated that it could take an extended period to identify the fatalities of the tragedy, which claimed the lives of four dozen individuals and hurt another 119. Officials said on Friday that the majority of the those hurt have been accounted for, with work still underway to name the final individuals.

In the meantime, families and friends have been taking to online platforms to plead for clues about their friends who were at the bar that night.

Desperate Searches for the Unaccounted For
