Franchise leads Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson are set to return for the latest Hunger Games film, Sunrise on the Reaping.
Reports indicate that original stars Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson are set to appear once again in the latest chapter of the Hunger Games film series, titled The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. The project is now in the works.
A Major Reunion for Fans
The actors will once again portray Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, respectively. It is believed their roles will take the form of a future-set scene, considering the main film series concluded with their characters married and with children.
This marks the sixth film in the global Hunger Games franchise.
The Source Material
Sunrise on the Reaping is based upon a newly published work by author Suzanne Collins. It serves as the second film set before the original story after 2023's The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. Returning to the director's chair is Francis Lawrence, who directed nearly all the previous films in the series.
The Storyline and Fresh Faces
The film's events are set 24 years before the first Hunger Games, spotlighting a young Haymitch Abernathy. Haymitch, destined to become Katniss's mentor, is featured as a tribute in the notorious 50th Hunger Games.
The film welcomes several accomplished actors in pivotal roles:
- Jesse Plemons steps into the role of Plutarch Heavensbee.
- Ralph Fiennes will appear as a earlier incarnation of the menacing President Snow.
